Serendipity

Serendipity is one of the immense pleasures in life. A gift straight from God, as that is often how we find him. I found this little jewel while taking a random country road, acting like I knew where I was going while simultaneously getting lost. And voilà.

Blue and Orange will forever and always be one of the best color schemes.

Je suis allée en France l'été dernier.

So I went to France this past summer. It was so magical.

I learned so much. I was pulled and stretch in my intellect and spirit.
God taught me a lot. And many wonderful things happened. I know all of this happened months ago but sometimes it takes a couples months to really soak it all in.

I was baptized in Cassis
I met my cousin for the first time in Marseille
I learned how to cook and prepare many meals. The family I worked for (I was a nanny for four children) taught me so much, especially the mom. She is a beautiful women.
I met the love of my life, my current boyfriend. And France rooted itself deep, deep in my heart and soul.

The colors, the air, the mediterranean. Oh the love of it all. God is good.

I just thought I would write a little bit about it.

What is there to lose?
When I make smoke signals to you
with my eyes.
Yet you have a symphony dancing
behind your lips.
So you tape up pictures of me
and teach me to sing
Yet all that emerges is a
drowsy violinist.
Rapidly though, I can make
a world fall asleep.
Mouth closed, eyes open,
alertness is the key
You walk away forever
melodiously.

Well, She died.

My aunt died sometime in the last week. I met her once. Apparently I look like her when she was young.

Here is a tribute, Aunt Mimi, to wish you...a safe journey.

1. polaroids
2. typewriters
3. polka-dotted tights
4. orange high heels

Amen.

It was oh nine and NOW its oh ten

Was 09 whimsical and lovely? No it was not. But I am in love with the optimism and hope that everyone has coming into a new year. Truthfully, nothing has changed, but we wipe our slates clean and blink into bright eyes. 2010, I expect you to be whimsical and lovely.

I suppose the color of 2009 was orange. It seems to find its way into everything I create. Although I am not done with it yet, I feel yellow is beginning to become quite an obsession.

i.e. everything I buy lately is yellow. I would be annoyed, but I love it so much.

I am wearing yellow right now.

On days like this,
I write a love poem to the gloom, Asking it keep from my room.
